Jen's Thai Travels: More from Chiang Mai

October (halfway!) prayer points

For those who are interested (and I know there are a lot of believers out there!), here are some (lots of!) prayer and praise points at this stage of my journey:
- thanks for the exposure I am having to hear about God's work in the region.
- a prayer for the christian workers who face extra dangers in Myanmar during current political turmoil, and for those in China who are having their visas revoked during a period of crackdowns (possibly linked to impending Olympics) - a prayer also for the christians they leave behind, for their spiritual growth and personal safety.
- thanks for my safety over here and during recent travels, and for the opportunities I have had to learn more about asian cultures.
- praise for the wonderful christian fellowship my bible study group is having, and thanks for the visits of all of my family in the last few months.
- thanks for providing me and other christians the opportunity to teach english in a poor urban area (this teaching helps to support christian outreach activities in the community).
- a prayer for courage to find and use more opportunities to share my faith with non-believers.
- a prayer for patience and humbleness in my developing better relationships with my Thai workmates.

Mid May 2007 prayer points

For those of you who are interested, here are some current prayer points I'd love you to consider:
- thanks that my settling in period has gone well.
- to praise Him for religious tolerance in Thailand and for all of the church-centred people and activities in Chiang Mai.
- for the poor and oppressed in Thailand, particularly refugees.
- that I might dedicate my spare time to learning more about mission work up here and in finding effective volunteer opportunities.
- that my searches for good language training and transportation may be fruitful.
